Setareh Mahmoudi

Graduate Student Researcher

Setareh Mahmoudi graduated with a Masters of Science by Research in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh, and is currently working towards a PhD in Sociology at the University of California, Irvine. Her proposed dissertation work looks at the economic integration of immigrants from minority religious backgrounds in the European context. Her previous work includes grant writing and educational program development for the Plano Public Library System, including a math literacy program that provided tutoring and supplementary teaching resources for elementary students in low-income families. Broadly, her research is motivated by circumstances that disproportionately affect families and children from disadvantaged communities.
